The West Coast region of New Zealand offers a step back in time to an unspoilt, sparsely populated region with jaw breaking vistas around every bend in ever river.
The region has huge areas of unspoiled bush and national parks with a multitude of rivers running off the Southern Alps to the coastline. Freestone rivers combine with several lakes including the famous Lake Brunner to give the travelling angler a multitude of fishing options.
Iconic rivers such as the Grey, Arnold, Karamea and Mokihinui give the angler a plethora of fishing options. The region is also home to several spring creeks that offer the fly fisher challenging sport in absolute crystal clear waters.
Lake Brunner offers the shore based angler excellent sport and is an ideal place to base yourself. This diverse region is worth the time to explore !

I have been guiding on the South Island's West Coast since 1985 with a 95% return client base. I work out of Greymouth, the main town in this region. I enjoy catering for people of all levels of skill and aspiration, catching from 3-4lb fish up to trophy size. I'm happy to guide for fly or spin fishing. The most important thing to me is ensuring my clients enjoy their whole fishing experience and have their guiding expectations met. My service includes sight fishing for resident and sea-run brown trout by stalking and floating the rivers, lakes and estuaries of the West Coast of the South Island. I fish local rivers and provide extended road trips and helicopter backcountry day trips. I can supply fishing equipment and flies. Accommodation can be arranged to suit your budget and standards.
